  • A preliminary assessment is not required.

However, we offer this service so that we can assess your needs and point you in the right direction.

We will talk about your project, how you can get started on your own or with us, answer any questions, or anything in between.

The best part is it is low-pressure and free!

These appointments can occur by phone, in person, or through virtual meetings. You can even send us pictures via email to get started.

We can’t always provide formal estimates during these meetings, but we can provide you will a ballpark price range and discuss the next steps.

  • Since no two projects are alike, we price on a per-project basis to bring you the most value. Our prices can be found on our website here. You can also read how to get started with a cost estimate.

For most projects, we require 50% down at the time of service. We also offer payment plans, which can be discussed at intake. All projects must be paid in full at the time of pick up.

  • Our front desk reception vets any visitors to make sure they can’t wander into our office (always locked).

We do not allow clients or visitors into our office when collections are out.

Most client or visitor meetings are conducted in a separate conference room. This keeps your collections away from high-traffic areas and keeps their contents confidential.

All collections are stored in a locking cabinet, with digital items stored in a fireproof safe in our storage area.

We have confidentiality agreements built into our service agreements.

We never share your collections online or elsewhere unless you sign a photography release (optional).

We are also insured should something unexpected happen.

Bottom line: Monocurate takes confidentiality and collection safety seriously and takes every precaution to ensure all items are safe, secure, private, and protected while on-site with us.

  • All of Monocurate’s services happen on-site in our secured lab. Your collections never leave our office unless you pick them up or use our in-home services.

We do not contract work through third-party vendors at this time.

If we ever felt like we couldn’t handle a treatment or service that your collection required, we would refer you to a trusted provider rather than transferring it off-site without you knowing.

  • Probably! Anything you keep constitutes an archive, even if it’s not organized yet. This can be a shoebox of sentimental items, semi-organized photo groups, family/business history folders, or a mix.

  • We take great pride in helping you document your life, work, and legacy. We have a list of commonly archived items for both family collections and small businesses to get you started.

  • You’ll often see that we use "project" and "collection" interchangeably; to us, it’s synonymous.

A group of personal papers, say, your child’s “life box” containing vital records, greeting cards, school records, art projects, and a pair of baby shoes, count as a collection.

The same can be said for business records, where a collection (or group) would constitute any number of minutes, logos (past and present), documents, etc.

A collection is anything you keep, not limited to the example above. After all, we are what we keep. And what we keep is in our archive.

  • That’s great! We greatly respect those who want to take control of their collections. We offer non-labor consulting services, providing education, expert guidance, and individualized pathways so you can take on your collection yourself using best practices. This service is perfect for those who want professional support for DIY endeavors.
