Duties

  • Process privately held archival collections, including physical and digital materials.

  • Implement metadata standards for cataloging and indexing archival materials.

  • Research to support the identification, acquisition, and interpretation of archival materials.

  • Write descriptive summaries and finding aids for archival collections

  • Knowledge of preservation and long-term access, such as basic book repair, paper treatments, encapsulation, and custom housing creation

  • Plan and execute projects

  • Collaborate with other team members to identify and prioritize digitization projects.

  • Work with clients and repositories directly via in-person, email, and phone.

  • Document project analytics to increase the probability of meeting quality goals and business objectives

Requirements

  • ALA-accredited master’s degree or equivalent in Library/Information Sciences focusing on archives and records management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of archival trends, theories, and best practices.

  • Strong communication, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Dublin Core metadata creation

  • Experience with archival processing techniques and procedures

  • Familiarity with Adobe, Monday Work Management/CRM, and other Office Suite Software

  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

  • Flexible and adaptable

  • Good computer skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Valid Driver License

  • Working in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly.

  • Traveling within and outside the office to meetings and other events may be required, and travel may include overnight lodging (rare).

Salary

  • $20.00 - $27.00 per hour with room to grow after a 90-day probationary period

Expected hours

  • 20 – 35 per week with an eventual transition into full-time employment.
